47704Advanced level study of the French language and culture. Continued emphasis is on the five components of language (see above). Students are engaged in a variety of activities intended to move them to a higher level of fluency. Students in French 4 are given the opportunity to take the AP French exam and then to have the title “AP French” on their transcripts. Prerequisite: French 3 (B average recommended). (Grades 10,11,12)

49504Beginning level study of the Japanese language and culture with emphasis on understanding spoken Japanese and the phonetic Japanese alphabet. Students should be motivated in learning a new language. (Grades 10,11,12)

49554Intermediate level study of Japanese language and culture. Continued emphasis is placed on speaking and understanding the Japanese language. Prerequisite: Successful completion of a full year of Japanese 1. (Grades 11,12)

49603JAPANESE 3- (2 Semesters - 1.0 Credit)

49604Advanced level of study of Japanese language and culture. Speaking and understanding the Japanese language are emphasized. Also, Japanese characters (Kanji) and their readings will be studied. Prerequisite: Successful completion of a full year of Japanese 2. (Grade 11, 12)
