72102DANCE I- (1 Semester - 0.5 Credit)

A dance class for the beginning to intermediate student designed to develop concepts of modern dance with some basics of ballet and jazz included. Students will explore principles of time, space, energy and motion. Proper alignment and technique will be concentrated on providing a good background in dance. Students will have an opportunity to perform at the end of the Semester. A minimal fee is necessary for a class costume. Dance clothing required. This course will help fill P.E. or fine arts requirements. (Grades 10,11,12)

72152DANCE 2- (1 Semester - 0.5 Credit)

This class is a continuation of Dance 1 focusing primarily on skills of modern dance and jazz. Elements of choreography will be explored along with the basic history of dance. Projection and performance skills will also be focused on. Students will have a performance opportunity. A minimal fee is necessary for a class costume. Dance clothing required. Prerequisite: Dance 1 or TEACHER APPROVAL. This course will help fill P.E. or fine arts requirements. (Grades 10,11,12)

72202DANCE 3- (1 Semester - 0.5 Credit)

This class is designed for those students who are excelling at an intermediate to advanced level. Successful completion of dance 1 & 2 is recommended. Students will be working toward a performance level and will participate in the spring dance concert. Dance clothing required. There will be a costume expense of approximately $75. This course will help fill P.E. or fine arts requirements. TEACHER APPROVAL REQUIRED. (Grades 10,11,12)

72702DANCE AND DRILL- (1 Semester - 0.5 Credit)

A class to develop fundamental skills in various marching styles, military movement, jazz dance and drill downs. The class will be given the opportunity to perform at JV half times. (If the student chooses to perform, a small fee will be required for a class uniform- approx. $20.00). This course will help fill P.E. or Fine Arts requirements. (Grades 10,11,12)

72753DRILL TEAM- (2 Semesters - 1.0 Credit)

72754A class for students who have tried our and made the high school Drill Team. Students attend all games, perform at halftime, and must maintain a GPA of 3.0. There is a fee involved of approximately $600.00 for new members and $450 for 2nd year members. Practice outside regular school hours is required. This course will help fill P.E. or Fine Arts requirements. (Grades 11,12)

72353DANCE COMPANY (ADVANCED DANCE)- (2 Semesters - 1.0 Credit)

72354This class is a performance class. Students work and develop their own choreography towards performance level as well as learn advanced technique. This class combines modern dance, jazz and ballet. Dance clothing required. There will be a required assessment of $175 to cover costumes for the spring concert and other miscellaneous expenses. Practice outside of regular school hours is required. This course will help fill P.E. or Fine Arts requirements. AUDITIONS WILL BE HELD. TEACHER APPROVAL REQUIRED. (Brenda Mason) (Grades 10,11,12)

A coed class designed to teach students the various styles of dance used in a social function setting. The waltz, cha-cha, swing, country/western, funky dance and line dance styles will be taught along with social dance etiquette. This course will help fill P.E. Requirements. (Grades 10,11,12)

A coed class for students who have successfully completed Social Dance I. This class will continue with a higher level of all dance styles and have performance opportunities. A small fee might be assessed for those who perform. TEACHER APPROVAL IS REQUIRED. (Grades 11,12)
