REGION ACTIVITY CHAIRPERSON: Mike Browning Timpanogos High School (Phone) 223-3120 (Fax) 223-3134
1. Track meets will begin at 3:30 p.m.
2. Each school will furnish their own adhesive-backed finish tags. Tags should represent School colors (Lone Peak - White, Pleasant Grove - Blue, Lehi - Purple, Spanish Fork - Red, Timpanogos - Green, American Fork - Black).
3. Visiting schools will provide one (1) responsible helper at each meet.
4. Athletes can participate in no more than twelve (12) meets, only 6 of the 12 may be qualifying meets, plus the Region and State Meets.
5. The top four (4) places in each individual event in the Region Meet and the four (4) top finishers in each relay event will qualify for the State Meet.
6. The winner of the Region trophy will be determined by the team scores at the Region Meet.
7. Medals will be awarded to the top four (4) finishers at the Region Meet in each boys and girls events. One (1) medal will be awarded to each member of the winning relay teams for both the boys and girls events. Ribbons will be awarded to finishers 5 - 6 at the Region Meet in both the boys and girls competition.
8. Host schools will be responsible to conduct and take care of all preparations and equipment needs.
9. The Region will pay for a head starter and four (4) other officials at the Region Meet.
10. Each school will provide two (2) volunteers for the Region Meet.
11. Each school will be allowed seven (7) individuals at the Region Meet in each event, unless a school has more than seven (7) individuals qualify for State. If the school has more than seven (7) individuals qualify for State, those individuals who qualified for State can participate in Region.
12. The top eight (8) places will be scored at the Region Meet using 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2,1 points.
13. Changes in the Region Schedule must be approved by the Region Representative over Track and Field. A fine may be imposed for failure to notify the Region Representative. The host school’s principal will determine whether a meet should be canceled.
14. At the Region Meet all athletes must be in uniform, which consists of a school issued track and field top and bottom, which declares school affiliation. (See Federation Handbook Rule 4, section 3, article 1-4)
15. A hospitality room for the Region Track will be subsidized by the Region for an amount not to exceed $300.
16. The Region coaches will select an All-Region Academic Team composed of Varsity Seniors who have a cumulative GPA of 3.7 or higher.
