REGION ACTIVITY CHAIRPERSON: Steve Dudley Spanish Fork High School (Phone) 798-4060 (Fax) 798-0483
1. Team selection and first practice cannot be held before September 17, 2007. The first swimming meet of the year cannot be held before October 11, 2007.
2. A maximum of fourteen (14) meets can be participated in by region teams, including State qualifying meets.
3. All Region meets will begin at 3:30 p.m.
4. Region IV pay for swimming officials will be the following: Region Championship Meet > Starter $40.00 > Stroke Judges (2) $35.00 (each) > Heat Timer/Scorer $25.00
Region Dual Meets > Starter/Referee $30.00 > Scorer/Timer $25.00 > Stroke Judge $30.00
5. A Region Seeding Meeting will be held on January 18, 2008 @ 6:30 p.m. @ A.F.
6. The Region IV Swimming Meet will be held on January 25 & 26, 2008 @ TBA, with Pleasant Grove hosting and Lehi assisting. Warm-ups will begin at 3:30 p.m. and the swimming events will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Friday the 25th. On Saturday the 26th, warm-ups will begin at 8:00 a.m. with the swimming events starting at 9:00 a.m.
7. The State 5A Swimming Meet will be held on February 8 & 9, 2008 @ B.Y.U.
8. Each school’s entries for the Region Championships will be limited to all official entries in each individual event and one (1) entry in each relay event. All entry times must be the best time from meets during the current season.
a. All swimmers must meet eligibility requirements as per National Federation Rules.
b. The top four (4) swimmers from each school may score towards the Region Championship.
c. Each school must submit a master entry form to the host school and a copy to each school participating in the Region Swimming Championships at the Region Seeding Meeting.
d. Scoring format will be sixteen (16) places (as per National Federation rules for a (8) lane pool).
9. Region IV Swimming Championship Awards (Boys/Girls) a. Region Championship Trophy b. Eight (8) individual events. Medals for places 1, 2, 3, 4. c. Four (4) relay events. Medals for relay team places 1, 2, 3, 4. |
