1.           Beginning practice and team selection date:

             Girls:                   July 30, 2007

             Boys:                  February 25, 2008

 

2.           First soccer game may be held: (practice or region)

             Girls:                   August 7, 2007

             Boys:                  March 3, 2008

 

3.           Each school can play a maximum of 16 games (10 Region and 6 practice).  Each game              played in a tournament, other than state tournament, will count as one game.

 

4.           All Region varsity games will begin at 4:00 p.m.  JV games to follow immediately.  Girls will              play Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Boys will play Tuesdays and Thursdays.

 

5.           When weather conditions make playing of games questionable, the home school will notify              the visiting school by 1:00 p.m.  If conditions are questionable, both teams will meet at the              scheduled game site with the final determination to be made by the referee.  In case of              game cancellation, the game will be made up on the first available date as determined by              coaches of the teams involved.

 

6.           Date changes for reasons other than weather and/or field conditions, must be approved by              the Region Board of Managers.  If a change of date or time takes place for reasons other              than weather, the home team is to notify all other coaches in the region.  Time change of              games may be approved by coaches and principals of schools involved.

 

7.           Home team must wear light jerseys and light socks.  Away team must wear dark jerseys              and dark socks.

 

8.           There will be a coaches meeting after the regular season to determine the Region All-Star              and Academic All-Region team to be organized by the coach of the first seed.  This              meeting will be held the first Monday after region play is completed October 8th (Girls) &              May 12th (Boys).

 

9.           The playing field should be within State regulation guidelines.  Game balls must be leather.               Home teams must supply 3 game balls of the same make for each game played at their              location.

 

10.         Each game will consist of two, 40 minute halves, with a 10 minute half-time allowed.  Tie              games in Region play will consist of two, ten minute overtimes.

 

11.         Region standing will be determined on the following basis:

             3            points in standing for win

             1            point in standing for tie

             0            points in standing for loss

 

12.         Tie Breaker Procedure: In event of tie, the Region Tie Breaker Rule will apply.

 

13.         Inter-region play-off games will be arranged by the two schools involved.

 

14.         The Fighting Rule, (found in both the UHSAA Handbook and the Officials Manual) as              presently written, will be strictly enforced and is as follows: Any coach, player or bench              personal ejected by an official for unsportsmanlike behavior shall be suspended from the              next regularly scheduled game at the level of play (varsity, JV, etc.) and any intervening              levels of play.

 

Examples:

If ejected from a JV game, the player (or coach) cannot participate in the following varsity game or the next JV game.

 

If ejected from a varsity game, the player (or coach) cannot participate in the following JV or the next varsity game.  If the coach or participant is involved in a second incident/ejection, he/she will be suspended for the next two (2) regularly scheduled games.  A third ejection would result in suspension for the reminder of that season.  Ejections occurring on the final game of the season will carry over for all underclassmen to the first game of the succeeding season in that sport.
