The first golf match may be held on August 10, 2007. A maximum of 14 matches may be held.

Varsity Region Meets -Thursdays, tee time @ 11:00 a.m./play 18 holes.

Each team will play 8 players with 5 lowest scores counting towards team score.

        2.    Scoring: Bus drivers from Pleasant Grove and Timpanogos will serve as official score card               judges and assist in recording individual and team scores.  John Bingham will supply team               score sheets.  Players will exchange cards in a rotation (not straight across) keep his and               playing partner’s score and will stay together as a group.  Scores must be announced and               recorded before leaving the hole played.  Check the card for accuracy as once the card is               signed, announced and turned in, the hole by hole totals count and cannot be revised.  A                 provisional ball must be played in the event of a rule controversy. Players will play from the               blue tees and girls from the white tees.

            

  3.    Dress Code:Hats/visors, if worn, must be worn with the brim forward.  Collared shirts must       be worn and tucked in at all times.  Women’s fashion shirts without a collar must have       sleeves.  Men and women’s shorts must be a modest length.

      Prohibited Dress:

*Tank tops

*T-shirts

*Men’s sleeveless shirts

*Denim shorts, short shorts

*Cut-off shorts

*Denim jeans

Proper dress is required at all times at the host facility.  Questionable attire will be
reviewed by the region coaches.  Should a host facility have a stricter dress code, its
policy will take precedence.  Players in violation will not be allowed to tee off.

 

4.    Awards will be presented as follows:
      Trophy presented to region champion, determined by the scores taken from each region       tournament.  Individual medals given to the top ten players with the lowest scores in region       play.  Players will be allowed to drop their highest Region score. They will be allowed to       count the best 6 out of 7 scores when competing for Region medalist.

       Region Matches:
A player must also play in 6 out of the 7 Region meets to qualify for a medal.  If two or more teams tie for the Region title or the final state berth, a sudden death playoff at the final site with each team playing 4 players, counting all 4 scores.  Play continues until the team with the lowest score, on the holes played, wins.  If there is a tie for Region low medalists, those tied will play the same format until a winner is determined.  In case of a rain out, all players must have completed 9 holes of play for the contest to be counted towards Region standings.  The course pro and coaches will determine when a rain out is declared and rescheduled at the convenience of the host course and school schedules.

 

5.     Electric riding carts are allowed for spectators at the discretion of the golf course.  Parents and spectators are encouraged to watch, but must stay at least 50 feet away from players and must not communicate with the players. In case of a lost ball, spectators will be allowed to help in the search to find a ball.

6.     Female participation is encouraged and if there is enough interest from region and                              county schools.  The following schedule is available.  Tee times start at 1:00 p.m.  Please call John Kurtz one week in advance to reserve your players tee time.  Cost will be the junior rate for green fees.
