The starting date for basketball practice is November 6, 2006.  No pre-season games are to be scheduled prior to November 21, 2006.  (No coaching, intramural or other methods of selecting a team may be held prior to the starting date).

 

1.           The starting times of games for both the boys and girls in Region IV will be:

             Boys or Girls Play                                   Boys & Girls Both Play

             3:15 pm     Sophomores                            3:15pm     JV/Both Teams

             5:00pm     Junior Varsity                           5:00pm     Varsity Girls/Soph Boys

             7:00pm     Varsity                                     7:00pm     Varsity Boys/Soph Girls

 

2.           Region prices will be charged at all varsity, junior varsity, and sophomore games.

 

3.           Region IV Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Sophomore teams may schedule twenty games during the season.  Post-season play-off’s or state tournament games, as well as endowment games will not count against the twenty (20) game limit.

 

4.           Only by mutual consent of both participating principals can Region IV game times be changed.  The Region IV Boys Basketball Chairperson must be notified of any change in the starting times.  Changes of dates must be approved by the Region IV Board of Managers.  (The home team must notify the arbiter in case of any date or time changes.)

 

5.           Girls will use the smaller ball.

 

6.           Filming of your own games is authorized.  There is to be no filming by any school not involved in the game.

 

7.           The home team will furnish a white board and taping table for visiting teams for all games.  Teams will provide their own towels.

 

8.           There can be no games or practices during the UHSAA moratorium dates which include:

November 23-25, 2006

December 23-27, 2006

January 1, 2007

Region IV will assess a fine of $200 to the coach if there is a violation.

 

9.           A Region IV trophy will be awarded to the first place team based on a winning percentage.  Teams tied for first place who have the same winning percentage will be named co-champions and will share the title and be seeded into the state tournament based on the Region IV Tie-Breaker rule.  Each co-champion will receive a first place trophy.

 

10. In the event of a tie, the Region Tie-Break rule will apply.
