"Empowering the Caregiver" is both the title and the theme of the 9th Annual Utah County Special Needs Conference. The conference serves parents and caregivers of children with special medical needs and will be held Saturday, November 14th, at Mountain View High School, 645 W Center Street, in Orem, UT.
Lisa Muirbrook, third-grade teacher at Brockbank Elementary, was awarded a technology grant from the Nebo Education Foundation in October.
Michael Johnson, principal of Larsen Elementary in Nebo School District received the prestigious "Rookie of the Year" award from the Utah Association of Elementary School Principals (UAESP).
Mr. Johnson holds a Bachelor's Degree in education from Brigham Young University and Master's Degree in Administration from Southern Utah University. He also holds a Reading Endorsement and English as a Second Language (ESL) Endorsement from BYU.
Eighty-one special education students in junior highs throughout Nebo School District gathered at Mapleton Junior High on Wednesday, October 7th to participate in the 3rd Annual Sports Spectacular. This year’s event brought 230 staff members, peer tutors and participants together to participate in the 10 events that took place throughout the day.

Dane Allred, Payson High School drama teacher, has been a detective, Buffalo Bill, a drunken abusive father, the target of an assassination, a mentally-ill man, a suicidal veteran, an ancient actor, the church-lady and a homicidal juvenile delinquent. This time Allred is playing a police officer trying to help find a lost child.
Tuesday, September 29, Landmark High School, in Spanish Fork Utah, held their annual
Mix-it-Up assembly. The assembly was meant for breaking down the bricks and getting rid of cliques in schools. During the assembly Principal Joe Kelly, showed the students an example on using your inner strength and your inner power to break the bricks. Joe is a 3rd degree black belt, he put down four bricks and told everyone how he has only broke three before, never four.
