Nebo School District Drawing Contest

Students from fourth, fifth, and sixth grades across Nebo School District were asked to submit drawings of Christmas scenes for consideration for this year’s Nebo School District Christmas card. Many beautiful drawings were submitted.

First Place goes to Elliot Evans, a fifth-grade student at Spring Lake Elementary. His teacher is JaNae Wilson. Elliot’s original art was printed on the cover of the Nebo School District Christmas card.

Nebo Education Foundation Delivers

The Nebo Education Foundation meets the first Tuesday of every month at 6:30 a.m. to discuss submitted educational grants for students in Nebo School District. One of the goals of the foundation is to fund worthwhile projects in the district that provide resources to enrich student learning. The Nebo Education Foundation functions through generous donations made by individuals and businesses.

Canyon Presents to Nebo School Board

Mr. Dave Harlan, principal of Canyon Elementary, spoke to the Nebo School Board of Education and stated that they are making great Cougar tracks. Mr. Harlan said, “I want to thank our community, patrons, and parents for their strong support. We have the highest percentage of PTA members at Canyon. Canyon has a strong and dedicated staff, and we enjoy a collaborative culture at Canyon.”

Park Elementary Recognized by Utah State Office of Education

Park Elementary School has been recognized by the Utah State Office of Education as one of the 2011 Utah High Performing Title I Schools.  This recognition is for Utah Title I Schools that are able to demonstrate high levels of student achievement.  To earn the Utah High Performing Title I School Award, schools must make Annual Yearly Progress for at least two years, score at or above the state average on math and language arts tests, and be nominated by their district superintendents.  Park’s teachers, staff, students, and parents have worked very hard to accomplish this achievement.  Cong

Sage Creek Selected to Present at Nebo School Board Meeting

Sage Creek Elementary second-grade teachers, Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Lund, Mrs. Greenwood, Mrs. Ellis, and Ms. Sayers presented to the Nebo School Board of Education. Sage was invited to share their exemplary teaching practices in integrating the fine arts curriculum into academic subjects throughout the day.  The second-grade teachers explained that initially the teachers reviewed their existing curriculum map and highlighted what the teachers were already doing in the fine arts areas.
