First Day of School for Nebo School District Students

August 21, was the first day of school for Nebo School District students. Many students received the “red carpet” royal treatment on the first day. Some students opened the year by honoring the American flag as a symbol of our free country.

Students were excited to see their friends again and get to know their teachers. One student, Brielle, said, “I can’t wait for library day so I can read more books.”

Nebo School District Readies for Students and First Day of School, August 21

Nebo School District teachers and administrators are excited to have students back in the classroom and schools. Teachers having been training all summer to get ready for the first day of school and meeting their students. 

Collaboration time will continue to be on Mondays and is specifically for teachers to focus on improved student learning and quality instruction.

Nebo School District Students Highlighted in Fiesta Days Parade 2018

Almost all the high schools were represented at the Spanish Fork Fiesta Days parade including an elementary school. Nebo has many talented students that demonstrated those talents through student council, band, theater, FFA, cheerleading and dance.

Coach Earns National Recognition

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the state-by-state winners of its fifth annual High School Coach of the Year award for track & field on Monday. Jeff Wales, coach at Springville High, was recognized nationally for this prestigious honor.

One boys coach and one girls coach from each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia - as seen in the lists below - were honored for their successes during the spring of 2018, as selected by a committee of experts from around the nation.

National Winners - Teacher and Students

The 2018 FCCLA National Leadership Conference was held in Atlanta, GA the last week of June. With the theme of "Inspired", 211 students and 92 advisers/chaperones from Utah attended dynamic workshops and break-out sessions, participated in STAR Events, met new people and expanded their leadership potential. Great memories were made at the various tourist Atlanta attractions which included the Coca-Cola Word, Georgia Aquarium, Civil Rights Museum and other locals attractions.

Nebo Student Online Registration Starts Soon

Nebo schools will soon start student registration online. Most elementary registration will begin as early as July 25. Please go to your individual school’s website to see the exact date and procedure.

All registration for secondary schools will open August 1, 2018. At that time you will be able to access your student’s Aspire account to make all necessary updates, sign all e-documents, and pay the registration fees due for the coming school year.

Employees and Family Support Nebo Cancer

Nebo Employees and families ran in support of other Nebo employees that have battled cancer. The American Fork Canyon Run Against Cancer half marathon raised over $350,000 to help fight cancer.
