Nebo’s Payson High Hosts College Application Week and Financial Aid Night

As part of Utah College Application Week (UCAW), Payson High School hosted a College and Financial Aid Night on Thursday, November 15th. The goal of UCAW is to provide every high school senior the opportunity to complete at least one college or university application during the school day, with a particular focus on students who would be the first in their families to attend college, low-income students, or students who may not have otherwise considered applying.

Nebo Education Foundation Gives Grants November 2018

The Nebo Education Foundation meets each month at 7:00 a.m. to discuss submitted educational grant proposals for students in Nebo School District. One of the goals of the foundation is to fund worthwhile projects in the district that provide resources to enrich student learning. The foundation functions through generous donations made by individuals and businesses as well as fundraisers where all the money goes to educate students in Nebo School District. Thank you to all those that so generously supported Nebo students through donations.

Nebo schools and students celebrating all our many heroic veterans. Spanish Fork Junior even had Governor Gary Herbert come and speak to the students in a patriotic assembly.

Veteran’s Day is a day for us all to honor all those brave men and women who have served and are serving our country with bravery, dedication, and sacrifice. Thank you veterans for your service that we may all live in a free country and have a right to a free public education.

Thank you to all our military personnel for the sacrifices you make for our freedom!

Making Dreams Come True for Nebo Cancer Student

Kallie Jensen was born on August 26, 2003. She is 15 years old. Kallie was diagnosed with a rare form of soft tissue cancer called myxofibrosarcoma in her right jaw two weeks before her 11th birthday.

Because Kallie’s tumor was so big, she had a tracheotomy and a feeding tube placed. She’s had 15 surgeries that consists of bone and tissue grafts. Kallie finished 10 rounds of chemotherapy and 25 radiation treatments. Kallie was cancer free for three years. In that three years, Kallie’s trach was removed, and she had two more jaw surgeries that were less extensive.

Nebo Art Students Coming Together to Create Presentation with Whoop Dee Doo

Members of the Maple Mountain Ellevés Drill Team from Nebo School District worked with Whoop Dee Doo and other youth in Utah County to produce an artistically-inspired presentation.

Whoop Dee Doo is a travelling, artist-led organization with the purpose of organizing site-specific installations and performances with communities around the world. Co-directors Matt Roche and Jaimie Warren work with youth groups and local performers to create theatrical experiences using simple resources.

Last Paper Sale through Foundation Starts Tuesday, November 13, 2018

This will be the last paper sale through the Nebo Education Foundation. The Foundation has partnered with multiple companies to bring you the best prices on paper. The sale will be Tuesday, November 13 through Thursday, November 15, from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. at the Summit Center (165 South 700 East, Springville). The sale is a “must go” for educators wanting to take advantage of deep discounts. Goods will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.

Congratulations Nebo School District Passes Bond - Answer to Wednesday Challenge

Nebo School District passes bond with 57.6 percent or a 16 percent lead as of Friday, November 9, 2018. 

On behalf of the students, teachers, staff, and School Board of Nebo District, we express our profound and sincere appreciation for your tremendous efforts in support of the Nebo District Bond.  Thank you for your vision, your dedication, and for your support of our students in Nebo School District.

With the passing of the bond, the following will be started as early as February 2019. 

Nebo Parents Learn About Saving The Kids Digitally

During the first week of November 2018, parents in Nebo School District attended a free education night about screen time, device use, social media, and how to navigate the digital age. Presenters included Collin Kartchner and Dr. Katey McPherson.

Dr. Katey McPherson, national internet safety expert, presents to audiences large and small across the country in an effort to educate parents and children on the importance of wise device use.
