Elementary School (and Jr. High) Chess Tournament

Saturday February 9, 2013 8:30 am-3:00 pm approximately

Please enter through east doors.

• Check in by 8:30 am, instructions at 8:45 am.
• 6 rounds—all students get to play all 6 rounds.
• Grades K-9^th –K-6 students get to play others within their own grade. New this year: Grades 7-9 will be grouped together into one section.
• Rounds are up to 50 minutes each (i.e. approximately 25 minutes per player). Some grades may finish sooner.
• Trophies will be awarded for 1^st -12^th place per section, and for top 12 schools. All other players will receive a medal.
• Tie breaks will be decided by the computer.
• Information available for those interested in starting a chess club.

Lunch will be available for purchase:
pizza $1.00, drinks $.50, snacks & chips, etc.
Chess sets, chess software, and chess books available for purchase.

Cost $8.00 if you register and pay by Jan 26, or $15 if by Feb 7.
Registrations accepted only through Thursday, Feb 7—
no registration or payment accepted at the door.
Student must be in Nebo School District boundaries, whether attending public, charter, or home school.
Supervision of children is the responsibility of the parents. Parents and other spectators may not interact with players while they are competing.
