Shawn Rawlings, fifth-grade teacher at Westside Elementary, will begin work on his master’s degree in Administration at BYU’s McKay School of Education in the prestigious Leadership Preparation Program (LPP). Rawlings has dreamed of being a teacher since childhood, because of the positive influences of his own teachers. His time in the LPP program will prepare him to become a future administrator, where he can continue to positively influence the students he interacts with.

Regarding his time at the Nebo School District, Rawlings said, “Every student, regardless of their individual circumstance should be given an equal opportunity to learn – in an environment that is interactive and safe, and where each student knows that you genuinely care about them! I feel very honored to be an educator with the Nebo School District.”

Rawlings has been teaching in the district for six years and also teaches Chess Club in the district and organizes school chess tournaments. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, playing softball and enjoying the outdoors.

On behalf of the Nebo School District, good luck in your endeavors and congratulations Mr. Rawlings!
