With the appointment of Troy Bohling and Brenda Burr, there are openings at Salem Hills High. The Nebo School Board of Education would like to appoint Brett White as the new assistant principal of Salem Hills High School.

Mr. White is currently the assistant principal at Payson High School and has served there for the past four years. Before that, he taught math, history, Japanese, geography and physical education for 18 years at the Cornerstone program in Nebo School District.

When addressing the Nebo School Board of Education, Mr. White said, “Thank you so much for having the faith in me.  I have worked in Nebo for 20 years now. It is an incredible place to work--nothing but positive. People in Nebo give the support, strength, and opportunity for me to be here today. I thank Bart Peery for giving me a chance to be an administrator. Ben Ford has been my mentor for the last year. I look forward to this new adventure and Salem Hills High and wearing blue. Thank you very much!”

Mr. White graduated from Utah Valley University with his bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and from Southern Utah University with his master’s degree in Education Administration. He also has endorsements in special education and English as a Second Language (ESL) from Brigham Young University.

Principal Peery said, “Brett White is a great leader and example.  He is a true advocate for all students.  He has worked closely with at-risk students for most of his career and has found ways to help them be successful.  His physical stature is always a positive, intimidating thing when walking down the halls.  He is a good friend, and I am looking forward to working with him again.  Salem Hills High School will be in good hands with Brett.

Brett’s favorite quote is from Winston Churchill, “Failure isn’t fatal, success isn’t final, it’s the courage to continue that matters.”

Brett enjoys family, reading, world and U.S. history, and weight lifting. He has coached football, basketball, and softball. Brett stated, “I enjoy any sport with a ball.”
