When addressing the Board, Ms. Day said, “I am so excited to be a principal at Barnett Elementary. I appreciate Superintendent Nielsen’s and the Board’s confidence in me. I have had tremendous mentors that have been a big support such as Sara Matis at Westside Elementary. When I visited with the Superintendent, he told me about the passion and love Nebo School District has for the students. It will be a pleasure to share my passion and love at Barnett Elementary. Thank you.”

Elementary Director, Julie Warren, said, “I am excited for Ms. Day to be the new principal at Barnett Elementary. Angela is very talented and has such an enthusiasm for the educational process.  Angela cares about children and understands what is important in creating a culture of learning. She understands curriculum and great instruction. She knows how to inspire and motivate others to achieve success.  Angela is people oriented and genuinely cares about others. Angela will be a great principal.”

Ms. Day’s philosophy of education includes: “Education should focus around the overall belief that learning is a life-long pursuit. Administrators should model life-long learning for the students, teachers, and community. To have success, the school should have a shared mission and vision for the school. All stakeholders should be involved in this process. Every child has the potential for greatness and an educator should guide students as they discover their passion. We should provide children opportunities to explore their world, expand their horizons, and discover who they are.”

Angela enjoys reading, scrapbooking, crafts, volleyball, basketball, river-rafting, camping, traveling, and board games.
