THE PEAK AWARD CUSTOMER SERVICE PROGRAM

Nebo School District wants to showcase our Positive Energy and Kind employees. PEAK Awards are nominated by patrons and recognized by the Superintendent Staff and Nebo School Board of Education. The award is administered by the Communications and Community Relations Department.

Ted Davies, Counselor, Landmark High
Nominated by: David Brooks, Lynn Mecham, Scott Carson, Lynette Ethridge, Linda Mortensen, Chelsie Young, Brian Davenport, Sarah Lewis, Tiffney Loveless, Whitney Jackson, Machell Quigley, Mike Wing, Mark Bailey, Ben Gasser
“Ted is an absolutely amazing person and has been a counselor for many years. He always goes the extra mile to help students, co-workers, and parents. Sometimes this requires extra hours and patience. We have never seen Ted cross or angry. He just simply gets the job done even when he is weak and tired from his recent chemotherapy treatments and broken jaw. Ted continues to provide outstanding service to the students at Landmark High School. He is optimistic and patient and sets an example of making decisions that are student centered. He will do anything to help a student get in a position to graduate. Ted paints a picture of hope and helps lay out a plan for success. His calming influence and positive attitude permeates the entire school.”

Alesha LeMmon, Dean of Students, Diamond Fork Junior
Nominated by: Sarah Blackhurst
“When the faculty at DFJHS found out Alesha was appointed as the assistant principal at PJHS, they were both excited and saddened by the news. The moment I met her, I knew that she was loved by the faculty and students at DFJHS. I was given the opportunity to replace Alesha and spent several days with Alesha to absorb all of her fantastic qualities and traits. Alesha made a very large investment in Diamond Fork students, teachers, and staff. Alesha is the perfect example of Positive Energy and Kindness.  She is inspiring with her positive attitude, her ability to make others feel important, and her contagious energy that she shares with those around her. I am thankful for the time Alesha was willing to spend with me, for her insights and skill sets she modeled. Alesha truly paved the way.”

Benjy Frame, Teacher, Mapleton Junior
Nominated by: Holly Tippetts
“Besides continually working with student athletes throughout the school year and helping at Shadow Mountain over the summer, Benjy comes to school every day with a smile on his face and a positive attitude. He's constantly improving his classroom culture by implementing fun games to create unity in his classes and encourage student involvement. Benjy always speaks positively of students and staff. If something needs to get done, he quietly takes care of it. For example, during a Shadow Mountain hike this past summer, Benjy hiked steadily with one dedicated camper that had a severe physical disability. It took nearly double the time in the heat, but Benjy stuck with the student and her friends, keeping the conversation lively and positive. Benjy is truly positive, energetic, and kind.”

Kristin Howard, Art Technician, Sage Creek Elementary
Nominated by: Brenda Burr
“Above and beyond, more like to infinity and beyond, describes the level of devotion Kristin Howard puts into everything she does at Sage Creek. During her art planning time classes, her students produce museum quality work making Sage Creek hallways enriched with daily art exhibits. Making cross-curricular connections, and a walking National Geographic herself, she incorporates nature and non-fiction into art. For example, she seamlessly described facts about others as her students sketched designs that incorporated these details. For the holidays, her students used boom whackers to play Christmas carols. Incorporating service and creativity, for the Macy's Make-A-Wish Project where $1 would be donated for every Wish Letter for Santa, her students wrote and decorated over 1,000 Santa letters requesting a wish for someone other than themselves. And, on her own, Mrs. Howard sponsored and organized a faculty project to help a single mother refugee with five children for Christmas. This same attitude is reflected every day as she also willingly pitches in whenever and wherever she is needed at Sage Creek.”

Holly Kent, Secretary, Park View Elementary
Nominated by: Marcey Humpherys
“Holly has continued to offer encouragement and assistance to students and parents for many years. She always has a smile on her face and a positive comment. I appreciate her ability to create a positive atmosphere at the elementary school. She makes students and parents feel valued.”

Daun Sorensen, Secretary, Human Resource
Nominated by: Garrett Andersen
“I had an art technician quit in the middle of the year, and I was in the process of hiring a new technician. Subs were hard to find and get to cover the art class.  I needed to push the applicant through the hiring process as fast as possible. Daun was very helpful so that the new art technician could come to work. Daun does many great things that go unnoticed. I just wanted to shine a light on her and the great work she does.”

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This initiative is designed to focus on "raising the bar" on providing exceptional customer service, both internally and externally. A key component of this initiative is the development of the PEAK Award. The PEAK (Positive Energy and Kindness) Award is presented monthly to someone in the Nebo School District who "really gets it" when it comes to providing exceptional customer service, which in turn results in positive impacts on everyone including students, parents, co-workers and members of the community.

Who Gets Nominated?
Faculty and staff members are nominated by anyone in the community through the Nebo School District website, www.nebo.edu/PEAK wherein a special Customer Service link is provided. The directions as to how to nominate an employee for the PEAK Awards are clearly spelled out on the site. All nominations must include information on how the individual has provided exceptional customer service, as well as how the employee's actions impacted the nominator's overall perception of Nebo School District Schools. The name and contact information of the nominator must be included.
