Mrs. Susan Huff will be retiring at the end of this school year. The Nebo School Board of Education appointed Kali Brown as the Principal of Spanish Oaks Elementary for Nebo School District.

Mrs. Brown is currently the Facilitator and Intern Coach for Santaquin Elementary. She has taught second grade and transitional kindergarten at Sage Creek and Art City Elementary Schools in Nebo School District. Mrs. Brown graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education as well as a master’s degree in Education Administration from Southern Utah University.

Kali’s principal, Chad Argyle, said, “Kali persistently reflects on how to improve not only her ability to teach, but how to help teachers and paraprofessionals advance their skills in reaching the needs of all students. Her passion for learning and teaching is evident in everything she does. She currently leads the school in community involvement with constant communication through our school website, School Community Council, and school newsletters.”

Mrs. Brown stated, “I believe learning is a lifelong process. In Nebo School District, we are a community of learners who greatly benefit from listening to others' experiences and insights. I am excited to work together as a team to help meet the individual needs of each student at Spanish Oaks. The more the school and family work together as partners in a child’s education, the greater their chances for success. One of the most important things in the world we can do is teach others. I am so excited to be a Spanish Oak's Explorer and am looking so forward to the opportunity to learn alongside each member the school community this year!”

“The true leader is the one who follows first,” by Sergiovanni, is an important motto for Mrs. Brown.

Kali’s favorite thing in the whole world is family! As a family, they like to go camping, swimming, and watch movies together. Kali likes to read, drink chocolate milk, go jogging, read, clean the house, and read. Kali is married to Garrett. They have four children and reside in Mapleton.
