East Meadow’s Principal Dwight Liddiard, sixth-grade teachers, and the student council along with the entire student body raised $1,001.10 to donate to the “Warm the Soles” campaign directed by Nebo Credit Union.

Each year East Meadows makes “Warm the Soles” a priority at their school. For the past two weeks, the student council visited each classroom to collect the funds for this generous campaign. Sixth-grade teachers Mr. Gentry Youd, Ms. Alece Tomadakis, and Ms. Julie Hammari helped guide these students break their highest amount. In the past years, the students’ highest amount was just over $700. This year these ambitious students exceeded that by 30 percent.

Nebo Credit Union’s President Dale Phelps said that they have been able to buy 470 pairs of shoes to help needy students in our school district. He said, “We enjoy helping in any way that we can. We love to help students in Nebo School District. Thank you East Meadows for helping us buy needed shoes for children.”
