Principal Susan Huff of Spanish Oaks Elementary was awarded the 2012 David O. McKay School of Education Alumni Achievement Award.  Mrs. Huff spent eighteen years in the classroom and taught first and fourth grades. She served as a clinical faculty associate in the BYU-Public School Partnership and is a local and national educational consultant. In the past, Principal Huff was awarded the Utah Rookie Principal of the year, Nebo District’s Instructional Leader of the Year, the Utah Reading Principal of the Year, and most recently the National Distinguished Principal Award.

Principal Huff is married to Richard, and they have five amazing children and fourteen grandchildren. Susan said that completing her doctoral dissertation while working full time and having family responsibilities was one of her greatest challenges and a very satisfying accomplishment.  She is a published author and educational consultant. She enjoys these opportunities to work with dedicated educators both locally and throughout the country.

Spanish Oaks Elementary honored her with a luncheon and a gift basket from the faculty, staff, students, and PTA.  Thank you, Principal Huff, for your work to improve the lives of children and adults. This award is well deserved.
