Fairchild Challenge Proves Successful for Salem Hills High

Salem Hills High students shined in the Fairchild Challenge held in April at Thanksgiving Point. Schools from all over Utah had the chance to participant in this creative-friendly competition. Salem Hills blasted through the competition and placed third overall, winning $250.

The Fairchild Challenge is an annual event that allows students to showcase their environmental work and knowledge in creative ways. The Salem Hills students participated in several areas of the competition including Environmental Immersion, T-Shirt Design, Visual Arts, Environmental Action, Film Screening, and Olympic Wreath Making.

Students Brittany Snow and Paige Robison took second and third place in the Environmental Action category, and students Elisabeth Haun and Aubrie Turner won the Film Screening category. Jairus Pace and Mike Moser won the Olympic Wreath Making category, and all the winners’ projects from the Olympic Wreath Making and Film Screening categories will be submitted to the BGCI Global Competition.
