Administrative Appointments 2012-13

Nebo School District is pleased to announce administrative assignments for the school year 2012-13. 

Sandra Jarvis – Human Resource Coordinator
The Nebo School Board of Education appointed Sandra Jarvis as the Human Resource Coordinator for Nebo School District. Sandra received her Bachelor’s of Education and Master’s of Administration from Brigham Young University.

Mrs. Jarvis has worked for Nebo School for 28 years. She taught 12 years in grades second through fifth grade. She was a principal at Brookside for 6 years and principal at Park for 5 years before opening Riverview 5 years ago.

Mrs. Jarvis was named Instructional Leader of the Year for the State of Utah, Nebo District Distinguished Principal of the Year, and Nebo District Innovator of the Year.

Mrs. Jarvis said, “I believe in people! I will do all I can to ensure that we hire quality people in Nebo School District and then bring out the very best in them. It is the employees in the school that truly make the difference in our students’ lives. I have always loved my job and believe that every employee deserves to enjoy their job. I believe that happiness is contagious and as Ann Frank said, ‘Those who are happy will make others happy too!’”

Sandra’s parents are J. Wayne and Gloria Nelson. She enjoys spending time with her family including rodeo, baseball, and travel. Sandra is married to Matt. They have three children and one granddaughter. Sandra loves living on a purebred sheep ranch called Jarvis Sheep Company along with Matt’s parents, Joan and Lee Jarvis.

Reese Brunson – Technical Service Coordinator
The Nebo School Board of Education appointed Reese Brunson as the Technical Service Coordinator for Nebo School District. Reese received his bachelor’s degree from Utah State University and his master’s from Brigham Young University.  Mr. Brunson was a Leaders Preparation Program (LPP) Recipient. He has worked for Nebo District for six years and in another district for one year.

Mr. Brunson taught at Minco Junior High in Rupert, Idaho for one year, Spanish Fork Junior for one year, Spanish Fork High for eight years. He taught math drivers education, and physical education. He also coached football, baseball, golf, and both boys’ and girls’ basketball. Mr. Brunson has also served as assistant principal at Springville High for two years and Spanish Fork High for five years.

Mr. Brunson was involved in coaching city recreation and Nebo Education Foundation Board Member as well as church leadership.

Mr. Brunson said, “I would like to thank all of my mentors over the years, specifically Dave McKee, Steve Dudley, Ann Anderson, and Tim Braithwaite (who encouraged me to get into administration). I will truly miss my family at Spanish Fork High where I have spent over 17 years of my life as a student, teacher, coach, and administrator. I will always love SFHS! Thanks to all of the students, teachers, parents, and community that I have had the privilege of serving. I will miss you.”

Reese enjoys camping, hunting, golfing, and coaching my children in soccer, baseball, and golf. He is married to Susanna, and they have three children.

David Rowe – Mentoring & Evaluation Coordinator
The Nebo School Board of Education appointed David Rowe as the Mentoring and Evaluation Coordinator for Nebo School District. David received his Bachelor’s of Education and Master’s of Educational Leadership from Brigham Young University.

Mr. David Rowe is currently the principal at Hobble Creek. He served as principal of Art City for seven years, and began his career in education in 1997 as a third-grade teacher in Provo School District. Mr. Rowe has worked nine years in Nebo School District and six years in another district.

Mr. Rowe was named the Human Resource Developer of the Year by the Utah Association Elementary School Principals for the state of Utah. A colleague stated, “Dave has initiative. He is a strong student advocate and students feel his genuine care for them. He is committed to the academic, social, and emotional success of every child. Dave is dedicated and a dependable professional.”

David said, “I could not work with better people in my community, schools, and district. I look forward to serving the district in my new position.”

Dave enjoys photography and ATVs. He is married to Debbie, and they have six children.
