The Nebo School Board of Education would like to appoint Troy Bohling as the Coordinator of School Services for Nebo School District. Dr. John Webb, the current Coordinator of School Services, will be retiring at the end of the school year.

Mr. Bohling was instrumental in opening the new Salem Hills High School as an assistant principal with Ann Anderson in August of 2008. He began his teaching career in 1985. He taught math, geography, and world history.  In 1994, Mr. Bohling came to Nebo School District to teach at Springville High where he later became the assistant principal. Mr. Bohling served as the assistant principal at Spanish Fork High. He has worked for 17 years in Nebo with another 9 years in another district.

Some of Mr. Bohling’s awards include Nebo Cites Associate, Spanish Fork High’s National Honor Society Award (SFHS), an Honorary Chapter FFA Degree (SFHS & SHS), Friend of the Band Award (SHS), and Nebo District’s Teacher of the Year 1999 (SHS). He is involved with religious responsibilities with the youth, city and accelerated coaching, Neighborhood Watch, and Salem City emergency preparedness.

Bart Peery, Principal of Salem Hills High, said, “Troy Bohling is a man of great integrity and dedication.  He is one of the hardest working people I have ever been around. He is an advocate for students, and he has changed many lives for the better.  He has put his heart and soul in the creation of Salem Hills High School.  He has left his stamp on the school, and we will forever be indebted to him.  He will do a fantastic job in his new responsibilities.”

Mr. Bohling said, “When I began teaching 26 years ago, I dreamed of one day helping to open a new high school.  I realized that dream with Salem Hills.  In education, I have never left the school I worked at willingly, yet I have always been blessed to have a great love for whatever place I was in and whatever people I was around.  I have loved working at Cedaredge High School, Grand County High School, Springville High School, Spanish Fork High School, and Salem Hills High School.  The faculty and administration at each school embraced me regardless of my shortcomings.  I am indebted to each person I have worked with in Nebo School District for their tutelage and friendship.  However, I will miss interacting with the students the most. They are what make it fun to come to work each day.”

Troy said, my motto is “Do the right thing, at the right time, for the right reason. The most influential person in my life is my wife, Julie, and our children. Another influential person in my life was my high school senior basketball coach, Al Blanc. Some of my colleagues that have had a huge impact are Mike Hicks, John Webb, Ann Anderson, Dave McKee, Brenda Burr, Part Peery, Mark Bake, and a host of others.”

Troy enjoys spending time with his family, carpentry, gardening, board games, and athletics.  His motto is, “Do the right thing at the right time for the right reason.” His other motto is, “Do or do not, there is no try.” He is married to Julie. They have three children and reside in Salem.
