Alan Ashton - Appointed as Assistant CTE Administrator

Alan Ashton was appointed by the Nebo Board of Education as the Assistant Administrator of Career and Technology Education programs in Nebo School District. He will serve as Principal of the new Nebo Applied Learning Center that will open in August of this year.

Mr. Ashton has served as assistant principal at Maple Mountain High School for the past four years opening the new school. He was assistant principal at Timpview High School for five years and previously taught electronics and video at Provo High School for nine years. Alan was a Brigham Young University Leader Preparation Program (LPP) recipient. He received his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Weber State University and his master’s degree in Education in Leadership from Brigham Young University.

Mr. Ashton’s motto is, “The journey through life and the people that impact our lives are more important than the destination.” Mr. Ashton helped students receive numerous awards at state and national skills competitions. He also had a group of students sell an animation created at school to the HBO family channel.

Alan enjoys ATVs, snowmobiles, body surfing, electronics, music, and sound systems.  He is married to Julie. They have three children and have lived in Spanish Fork for the past 16 years. Alan is an avid reader and is always in the middle of two or three books.
