The Nebo School Board of Education appointed Angela Killian as Principal of Mt. Loafer Elementary for Nebo School District.

Mrs. Killian taught first grade at both Barnett Elementary for 6 years and at Mt. Loafer for 13 years. She completed her internships at Maple Mountain High and Mt. Loafer Elementary. Mrs. Killian has served as facilitator at Mt. Loafer for two years.

Mrs. Killian received her Master of Education in Administration from Southern Utah University and her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University.

A colleague said, “Angie always seems to have one goal on the top of her list and that is to do what is best for the students! She is honest, hardworking, organized, competent, and kind.”

Mrs. Killian received Teacher of the Year for Nebo School District in 2006.

Mrs. Killian’s educational philosophy is: “I don’t want education to necessarily answer all the questions children have – I want education to be there to listen to them and to encourage them to question more. To work in education, it helps to be passionate. I want children to see the drive and determination I have for education, educators, students, and parent. My children have been happy at school; they have had a great start to life. Students should be happy and safe at school. That makes me happy. Education should be about embracing happiness.”

Angela enjoys collecting memories. She was raised in Payson and is the daughter of Wayne and Marjorie Lindsey. Angela is married to Todd. Todd teaches health and human anatomy at Landmark High School. They have three children and reside in Mapleton.

“When school is not keeping us busy, the family is. My husband and children are my greatest blessing and achievement,” said Angela.
