With the recent administrative move of DeAnn Nielsen to Maple Mountain High, the Nebo School Board of Education appointed Alicia Rudd as the new principal at Brookside Elementary in Springville.

Currently, Alicia Rudd is the principal at Mt. Loafer Elementary and has served there for the past three years. She was an outstanding teacher for 13 years before that. She served as a Title I teacher and coordinator at Park View Elementary for one year, transitional first-grade teacher at Larsen Elementary for nine years, second-grade teacher at East Meadows Elementary for one year, and staff developer at Westside Elementary for one year.

Mrs. Rudd was selected as Teacher of the Year for 2006 by Nebo School District. She is a master teacher in all curriculum areas and one who knows how to effectively facilitate change.  She is an instructional leader who has a good grasp of best practice and always implements whatever strategies are needed to ensure student success in a positive and productive learning environment. Mrs. Rudd is skilled at helping teachers to improve upon their own best practices through observation, modeling, and collaboration.

Mrs. Rudd said, “I am leaving a school that has been my family for over three years. I love the faculty, staff, students, and parents! Thank you for letting me share in your lives. I am moving to Brookside, which I plan to build strong relationships there too! I am grateful for the opportunity to lead another school. I love being in the educational setting.”

Alicia enjoys reading, running, and spending time with family and friends. She is the daughter of Shirl and Jean Olson of Spanish Fork. She and her husband, Kirk, live in Benjamin with their three children.
