Superintendent Chris Sorensen Retires

Superintendent Chris Sorensen has accepted a position with Brigham Young University in the Educational Leadership Department. Superintendent Sorensen has worked in Nebo School District for 33 years. Six of those years as superintendent.

Nebo School Board President, Dean Rowley, said, “We appreciate all Chris has done for Nebo School District and hate to see Superintendent Sorensen go. This new position is a good opportunity for him and his family.”

Superintendent Sorensen said, “I am leaving a job and a district that I love with all my heart. Nebo School District has been my life for the past 33 years. This new opportunity will allow me to train educators with administrative internships enrolled in the School of Education at BYU. This part-time position will allow me to spend more time with my family and to pursue some other personal interests.

Mr. Rick Nielsen, the current assistant superintendent for the past two years, has been appointed by the Nebo School Board of Education as the acting superintendent of Nebo School District.

The Nebo School Board of Education will meet in October concerning the selection of a new superintendent of Nebo School District.
