This year, three members from the Salem Hills High School and two members from the Springville High School chapters of FBLA qualified to compete at the 2010 FBLA National Leadership Conference which was held July 14-17 in Nashville, TN. Justin Smith (SHHS) competed in Personal Finance, Trisha Christensen (SHHS) competed in Accounting I, Zack Beck (SHHS) competed in Job Interview, Chelsie Murdock (SHS) competed in Business Procedures, and Jerich McAfee (SHS) competed in Business Communications. Two of our five competitors placed in the top ten in their events. Chelsie Murdock placed 7th in Business Procedures and Zack Beck placed 4th in Job Interview. “I am so proud of all of our competitors! They all did a great job. Seeing my students succeed is why I love being an FBLA adviser,” said Josie Reynaud, SHHS FBLA Adviser. “It was a great experience for us and a great way to end our experiences in FBLA,” said Justin Smith. “I had a lot of fun!” Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is a national organization that provides its members with opportunities to develop leadership skills while still in high school. Members compete in various events, ranging from Accounting to Public Speaking to Cyber Security, and many more. With over 50 events, there is something for everyone. Salem Hills High School FBLA would like to thank the following businesses for sponsoring this event: Temkin International, Dr. Barrows, Olsen’s Garden Shoppe, and Calvin K. Blohm Insurance. We would not have been able attend without your support.
