The Association of Energy Engineers awarded Nebo School District, including Energy Specialists Bodie Bradley and Russell Maughan, the Chairman’s Sustainability Award for their commitment to energy efficiency through equipment, lighting, and controls upgrades.

Since partnering with Cenergistic, an energy conservation company, in 2013, Nebo School District has added 700,000 square feet of building space without increasing the utility budget. In addition, Nebo District experienced a 24 percent reduction in its electrical usage or 4.441 million KBTU saved through conservation efforts. This equates to 1.7 million trees or 14,000 cars on the road for an entire year.

Russell Maughan said, “The entire school district is deserving of the Chairman's Sustainability Award. The conservation efforts of every employee has contributed to a reduction in energy-use.  Nebo School District's usage trend will continue to decrease as we all do our part to conserve energy.”

“There is no question that with Russell Maughan and Bodie Bradley, we have two of the best energy conservation specialists not only in the state of Utah, but also in the entire United States. Not only are they aware of best practices when it comes to energy conservation, but they are also very good in their interpersonal skills and their relationships with other people,” stated Superintendent Rick Nielsen. He continued, “We are excited to know that their efforts, and the efforts of every employee in Nebo District, continue to have such significant, positive impact on energy conservation.”
