A Nebo Student Makes KSL High 5

Submitted by lana.hiskey on

For months, Wyatt Smith has been picking up trash at Mapleton Junior High. It was his small way of making a difference. But instead of throwing away all that trash, he built a sculpture, one that is inspiring other students to make a change. He spent weeks creating the school’s mascot, a mustang.

“If you see something that needs to be done, if no one else is doing it, you be the one to do it.” - Wyatt Smith, Mapleton Junior High

Shara Park from KSL came and interviewed Wyatt as well as his arts teacher, Amy Ollerton, and mother, Tamara, for KSL High 5.

Sierra Sorensen, at America First Credit Union, gave Wyatt at $200 gift card for making a difference.

Congratulations on being a Nebo Hero Wyatt Smith.
