Submitted by lana.hiskey on

Nebo School District’s Veronica Solorzano, teacher at Mt. Nebo Junior, was honored as the Latinos in Action (LIA) Teacher of the Year for the State of Utah at the University of Utah.

Mrs. Solorzano is truly dedicated to the success of her students and holds them to high expectations to help them reach their potential.  Each week Mrs. Solorzano and her students spend several hours tutoring elementary students at Barnett Elementary.  They also do additional service projects, such as helping out at Kids Who Count, translating at Parent-Teacher Conferences at Mt. Nebo Junior High and other elementary schools in Payson.  These students work hard on developing leadership skills throughout the year.

Nebo School District is so proud of all the LIA accomplishments and the support and guidance of Mrs. Veronica Solorzano.
