Nebo School District honors classified employees across the district. Thank you to all those that submitted employees this year.

District Employee of the Year – Keith Argyle

Keith Argyle
Maintenance – Employee of the Year

“Keith is a very valued employee. He is known for his thoughtfulness and strong work ethic. He cares about the quality of his work and can fix anything. Keith is always thinking of ways to make the custodians’ work easier. When there is a problem with a piece of equipment, he stops by and picks it up quickly and efficiently. He not only fixes the problem, but goes through all the working parts and makes the entire machine work like new. He even returns the equipment sparkling clean. Sometimes equipment goes down at inconvenient times. Keith will drop what he is doing and go to the rescue whether it is late at night or early in the morning. Keith is talented, happy, and professional. All those that work with Keith, think the world of him!”

Gloria Young – Taylor Elementary
Secretary – Employee of the Year

“For 33 years Gloria has given her heart and soul to Taylor Elementary–the students, staff, and community. Gloria is the first person you meet, and she truly makes our school feel warm, safe, and inviting. She helps people with no strings attached and creates an exceptional experience for the people she serves. She is the mother and grandmother--helping everyone with lost items, cut fingers, hurt feelings, and the list goes on and on. Gloria has been known to make sandwiches for busy principals and teachers who didn't get a lunch. She is not afraid to clean up a mess. She is an amazing woman who truly cares about each child, and the students know they are loved unconditionally. Gloria is the heartbeat of our school.”

Niel Gasser – Sierra Bonita
Custodian – Employee of the Year

“Niel goes above and beyond his job description. He not only makes sure the building is clean and beautiful, but he also ensures that the needs of the faculty and staff are met. Niel makes sure the sidewalks and parking lots are free of snow and ice. He is just one phone call away to help in an emergency and even helps install projectors over the weekend. He is always pleasant, smiling, and willing to help efficiently and quickly. Niel is an excellent communicator and has nice things to say. If he doesn't know how to do something, he finds someone who does and learns from them. All the students absolutely love him. Niel makes our school an amazing place to work!”

Tracy Haskell – Mt. Nebo Junior High
Special Education Services – Employee of the Year

“Tracy has been a special education technician in a self-contained classroom for over 20 years. She takes care of students with unpleasant situations from runny noses to diarrhea–all with a positive attitude. Tracy is a stabilizing force and leader among the other employees. She is always calm and treats everyone with dignity and respect. She even volunteers to chaperone dances, choir concerts, and other activities. She ALWAYS has a good attitude and a smile on her face. Tracy is dependable, hardworking, and most of all–caring, with a big heart.”

Cindy Manning – Wilson Elementary
Child Nutrition – Employee of the Year

“Cindy Manning is one of the first people to greet all the students lined up each morning
for breakfast. She always has a big smile on her face and calls them each by name as she says hello. Cindy’s happy demeanor helps to set a positive tone for the day. Then she does it all again at lunch time – always cheerful and talking to the students as they go through the lunch line. Cindy is patient, compassionate, and goes above and beyond.”

Janna Lynne Manookin – Landmark High

“Janna Lynne is the ultimate go-getter! She is dedicated to our students’ success and is such a hard worker! She can be found moving from classroom to classroom finding students who need help with homework or credit recovery in various subjects. Janna knows every student’s name and most of their stories. She is always ready to help any student in need. The students love and respect her for all of her efforts. Janna is a fantastic employee!”
