THE PEAK AWARD CUSTOMER SERVICE PROGRAM

Suzette Harreld, Teacher, Canyon Elementary
Nominated by: Danika Nuttall, Jana Russell, Dave Harlan

“Suzette Harreld is an amazing teacher and coworker. Her influence is felt as she collaborates and strengthens her team as well as supporting not only her class, but ALL of the third-grade classes. Suzette is an incredible example of what kindness and dedication looks like to everybody she comes in contact with from students, colleagues, and parents. Suzette has worked hard this year to ensure that ALL of her students feel loved and cared for. She works hard to make sure each student is educated and feels loved regardless of the circumstance. Suzette is willing to use every trick, behavior plan, reward, consequence, etc. thrown at her form the school psychologist, counselor, district specialists, and the principal to help her students succeed. She does it with LOVE. Suzette doesn't allow other opinions to persuade her to think or feel a certain way about her students or others she works with. She is always happy to be around and willing to go the extra mile. Suzette has a great listening ear and is very trustworthy. She also has the best advice.”

“Suzette sees the needs and goes above and beyond to help them be successful. She has built rapport with each one, they know she has their best interest at heart. She is creative in finding ways to meet their needs. Suzette is very good at behavior specific praise, making each student feel valued and important. She has implemented reinforcement for individual needs, such as students who are often late or do not like to wear their glasses. Nothing goes unnoticed.”

Kara Trammell, Teacher, Diamond Fork Junior
Nominated by: Todd Claybaugh, Scott Buck, Maria Lewis, Rebecca Antares, Kyrsten Barazoto, Scott Tippetts, Leslie Parrott, Brenda Burr, Susan E. Anderson, Mike Sorensen

“Kara is FUN to work with! She is energetic, positive, and has a bigger personality than can fit in her little body. Kara is a team player; she wants to contribute. She is ‘REAL’. Kara takes risks and puts herself out there to try new things. The students adore her!
She was asked to switch to ninth grade, take on student council, and coach the girls' tennis. Kara does it all with a smile and unlimited energy. She knows when to be firm and how to make students laugh. Kara is a great motivator.”

Shane Hansen, Custodian, Spanish Fork Junior
Nominated by: Matt Christensen, Alesha LeMmon, Blake Mortensen, Naomi Phillips, Kris Kelly, David Thacker, Chris Hall, Chaleesa Warren, Shannon Hales, Alyse Freeland, Kathy Thacker, Lois Terry, Travis Moss
“Shane does an exceptional job in keeping our building clean and functioning!
He is hardworking and exemplifies the motto, ‘Any job worth doing is worth doing well.’ Shane is always cheerful, positive, and ready to help with any request that comes his way. Some of Shane's night crew custodians have special needs, and he is very patient and caring with these employees. He cares about the person and steps up to complete the tasks. There isn't a job that Shane cannot do. He is our golf coach and has won the district golf championship two years in a row. Shane is simply amazing!”

Shauna Frossard, Special Education Technician, Hobble Creek Elementary
Nominated by: Julie Major & Tina Wilkinson

“Shauna is the most outstanding special education technician that I have worked with. When she was my technician, at Mapleton Elementary, she would co-teach resource groups, help with curriculum development, complete special projects, and assist special education students in the general classroom. She is extremely competent in fulfilling all her responsibilities. She also developed a great rapport with the students she worked with and managed behavior well.

“The characteristic that makes Shauna stand out from other technicians is that she is extremely proactive in her approach to helping everyone. She is very observant. She would see what needed to be done and wouldn't wait to be asked, but would just jump in and do it. All of the general teachers whose rooms she assisted in would tell me things that she would do to help without being asked. One teacher told me that Shauna came in her classroom to assist a student, the student didn't need Shauna at that time, so she saw some paint brushes from an art project that needed to be cleaned and with out being asked cleaned them. The teacher really appreciated it!!”

“Shauna is always taking initiative and finding things to do. She has been working in the regular classroom with a student making the student as successful as possible in that environment. The regular education students and my students love and respect her. Shauna always follows through with requests. She is positive and patient with students and staff. Shauna is flexible and willing to do new things. I love working with her!”

Debbie Webber, IMC Printing, IMC
Nominated by: Wendy LeFevre & Susan Langford

“For the past several years, Debbie has worked with us to print our Math Note Guides. She has gone the extra mile to make sure the finished product was just what we wanted. Without Debbie's expertise and advice, we would not have had such a professional looking product. She has been so kind, courteous, and positive. Debbie offers advice without making us feel inferior.”

“Most likely Debbie gets bombarded with many requests. It would have been easy for her to look at our print job as just another number. But she treated it like it was the most important job she had received all year. It made us feel like we were valued by the district.”

Dayna Vernon, Intern Facilitator, Santaquin Elementary
Nominated by: Mariajose Zaugg & Hannah Camit

“Dayna is always willing to help everyone in the building. She has a positive outlook on everything and helps the school and community in any way she can. She not only mentors the new teachers, but shares her experience and ideas with all teachers. She is a great example of an exemplary, collaborative educator to all.”

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

A key component of this initiative is the development of the PEAK Award. The PEAK (Positive Energy and Kindness) Award is presented monthly to someone in the Nebo School District who "really gets it" when it comes to providing exceptional customer service, which in turn results in positive impacts on everyone including students, parents, co-workers and members of the community.

Who Gets Nominated?
Faculty and staff members are nominated by anyone in the community through the Nebo School District website, www.nebo.edu/PEAK wherein a special Customer Service link is provided. The directions as to how to nominate an employee for the PEAK Awards are clearly spelled out on the site.
