October 2018 Nebo PEAK Award Winners

THE PEAK AWARD CUSTOMER SERVICE PROGRAM
Nebo School District wants to showcase our Positive Energy and Kind employees. PEAK Awards are nominated by patrons and recognized by the Superintendent Staff and Nebo School Board of Education. The award is administered by the Communications and Community Relations Department.

Heather Bingham, Teacher, Sage Creek Elementary
Nominated by: Julie Graves
“I have a son that is well below reading level for his grade since moving from a Chinese immersion program last year. When my son started fifth grade, he knew he was behind; but Mrs. Bingham encouraged him to keep going. With the goal of having all her kids read 40 books this year, Mrs. Bingham found a way to keep my son engaged and eagerly learning. She spends a lot of time helping my son adapt. She is constantly telling my son how smart he is, and that he can do it. I have seen so much growth in my son’s attitude this year. He wakes up early and is excited to go to school, which isn’t usually the case for fifth graders. Mrs. Bingham has been the best thing that could have happened to my son. I cannot say enough great things about her.”

Keith Richards, Assistant Principal, Mapleton Junior
Nominated by: Mike Adams
“Many teachers seek Keith out when they are struggling with a student or other issue in the classroom. We know that Keith will listen and genuinely give his best effort to help solve the situation. As assistant principal, Keith contacts parents every day concerning student behavior. While many of those conversations address negative behavior, Keith always ends on a positive note about confidence in their child’s ability to succeed. Keith has been influential in helping many students during rough times.”

Tim Ernst, IT, Technology
Nominated by: Holly Kent, Tara Makin, Gwen Spencer, Sarah Sumsion
“Tim is a hardworking IT technician. He has a good rapport with teachers, other technicians, and the students at our school because he genuinely cares about them. Tim is a self-starter and completes tasks even before they need to be done! Tim willingly does whatever is asked with a positive attitude. He has a strong work ethic and seldom misses work. Tim responds to our school's cries for help with computers or the internet the same day. Tim knows everyone's name in the building and will ask about our families and how our day is going. He creates a positive working atmosphere by always being upbeat about hard situations. Everyone needs a Tim Ernst in their school!”

“Tim is one who constantly exudes positive energy and kindness. No matter our need from him or help he has been asked to give, he answers quickly, happily, pleasantly and never acts bothered. I have asked him for tech help too many times to admit, and he still is so prompt to respond, and ALWAYS with a smile. He is friendly to everyone and wonderful to work with. Even just walking through the halls of our school he has a smile on his face. I like to call him a friend. He most definitely deserves the PEAK award.”

Breanna Partridge, Art Technician, Wilson Elementary
Nominated by: Shawn Rawlings
“Breanna Partridge is an amazing source of positive energy at Wilson Elementary. As the planning time lead technician, Breanna keeps things organized and teachers informed. She volunteers countless hours to our school by attending off-contract time meetings, creating beautiful artwork for our building to support the Leader in Me Program, and helping to oversee the student Lighthouse team. Her smile is quick and enthusiasm contagious!”

“Breanna's example shows that the employees in Nebo District go above and beyond. She is a Nebo Hero!”

RaeAnn Nelson, Music Technician, Riverview Elementary
Nominated by: Aubree Barnum
“RaeAnn Nelson is always looking for ways to serve our students. RaeAnn is over our Boys and Girls Club and is always offering her help by donating clothes, books, toys, etc. RaeAnn is always striving to make sure the music in our programs goes smoothly and always does an amazing job. She has more energy than most. RaeAnn always has a ready smile and is willing to help in any way she can. She is a true Nebo Hero!”

Jenny Bradford, Teacher, Mapleton Elementary
