THE PEAK AWARD CUSTOMER SERVICE PROGRAM
Nebo School District wants to showcase our Positive Energy and Kind employees. PEAK Awards are nominated by patrons and recognized by the Superintendent Staff and Nebo School Board of Education. The award is administered by the Communications and Community Relations Department.

Treana Kober, Counselor, Park View Elementary

“Treana meets with many students at Park View who have difficult situations. Her kind and caring qualities have made a difference in helping these students cope with difficult home lives, learn anger management skills, and acquire skills for making friends. She is a valued member of our faculty, and we rely on her wisdom in dealing with difficult students. Treana also works with our school's student leadership group. She teaches them valuable life lessons by providing them with opportunities to serve the school. She organizes them into groups, giving them all the opportunities to hold leadership responsibilities. She helps them prepare and present monthly skits to our student body, introducing a new Habit from the Leader in Me Program.”

Dyan Gordon, Secretary, Mapleton Elementary

“Dyan is one of the most personable and friendly people at our school. When she came several years ago, she immediately went to work memorizing students' names, as well as parents'. She develops a relationship with each family and makes everyone who walks in our door feel important. She quickly earned the nickname, from one of our students in a self-contained classroom, ‘Commissioner Gordon’ because he felt like she was an extremely important helper at the school. Dyan's laugh is infectious, and she loves to laugh and have fun. She cheerfully helps teachers and every employee with whatever they need. She greets everyone with a pleasant welcome each day. The students love and trust her. Dyan is also meticulous in keeping track of everything and makes our jobs so much easier.”

Allyson Brooks, Teacher, Spanish Fork Junior

“Allyson Brooks is a math teacher and has worked to incorporate Comprehensive Mathematics Instruction (CMI) into her classroom this year – helping students to understand mathematical thinking and reasoning and not just algorithms. She cares about and works with all students at every level to achieve higher levels of mastery. Allyson works with struggling and successful students as they work their way through mathematical concepts. Her dedication to her craft is matchless as she always works to improve herself as a lifelong learner. She is a great asset to the SFJHS faculty in every way and exemplifies the Lobo Way by Learning to Learn with Passion as she pursues challenges for self-improvement.”

Howard Bonzo, Teacher, Landmark High

“Howard has served at Landmark longer than anyone else. He is a calming influence and a real advocate for students because he cares about their success. He helps students find talents and interests such as drawing, pottery, ceramics, or painting. Howard is a voice of reason and support with our staff. He has an attitude of positivity and resolving problems.”

Jennifer Waters, Teacher, Orchard Hills Elementary

“Jennifer is a very dedicated teacher. She has exceptional patience and love for each of her students. The students all love her and enjoy going on the many field trips and educational activities she has planned for them. Her SPED tech team loves working with her because she is a good team leader and makes the job fun. Jennifer works hard both inside and outside of the classroom.”

Mari Kadish, Teacher, Meadow Brook Elementary

“Mari was instrumental to my success as a first-year-back teacher. I had taken nine years off, and boy(!) things had changed since I was last teaching Kindergarten. She was always there with a willing ear, a helpful hand, useful advice, and a pep talk if needed. Her management techniques are top-notch. Her kindness is extraordinary. I adore this fellow teacher and feel she is deserving of this award.”

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This initiative is designed to focus on "raising the bar" on providing exceptional customer service, both internally and externally. A key component of this initiative is the development of the PEAK Award. The PEAK (Positive Energy and Kindness) Award is presented monthly to someone in the Nebo School District who "really gets it" when it comes to providing exceptional customer service, which in turn results in positive impacts on everyone including students, parents, co-workers and members of the community.

Who Gets Nominated?
Faculty and staff members are nominated by anyone in the community through the Nebo School District website, www.nebo.edu/PEAK wherein a special Customer Service link is provided. The directions as to how to nominate an employee for the PEAK Awards are clearly spelled out on the site. All nominations must include information on how the individual has provided exceptional customer service, as well as how the employee's actions impacted the nominator's overall perception of Nebo School District Schools. The name and contact information of the nominator must be included.
