Teresa Jordan - Principal of Spring Lake Elementary

The Nebo School Board of Education appointed Theresa Jordan as Principal of Spring Lake Elementary for Nebo School District.

Teresa received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Utah Valley University and master’s degree in Education from Brigham Young University as well as an Educational Leadership Certification license from Brigham Young University.

Mrs. Jordan taught fourth grade at Park Elementary, Spring Lake Elementary, and Park View Elementary for six years. She served as a district literacy specialist for two years and as a clinical faculty associate with the BYU partnership program. For the past eight years, Mrs. Jordan has served as facilitator at Maple Ridge and Westside Elementary.

Mrs. Jordan stated, “I am passionate about building relationships and believe the people of Nebo District are its greatest asset. Positive energy is created when faculty, staff, and the school community come together for the purpose of ensuring that students learn at high levels.”

A colleague said, “Teresa is a wonderful teacher, mentor, and facilitator who works to inspire students and other teachers. She effectively observes new teachers, provides them with feedback and instruction, and model teaches concepts that need strengthening. She works well in communication to inspire students and other teachers.”

One of Teresa’s favorite sayings is, “The most important things in life aren’t things.” She said, “I love coming to work every day and feel a true passion for being an educator. As much as I love working with students, I feel equally passionate about teachers. I consider myself a teacher of teachers. Sara Matis is someone who has been a wonderful mentor and friend to me for many years. She has taught me to build the capacity of others, look beyond myself, and treat every child like they are personally important.”

Teresa was honored with a Crystal Apple Award, PTA Service Award, as well as the PEAK Award. She is an avid reader and enjoys bullet journaling. She enjoys water and snow skiing at her favorite places Sundance and Lake Powell. She is passionate aboutcooking and baking and maintains a family food blog just for fun.

Teresa is married to Korry and they collect antiques and enjoy finding new purposed for old things. They have four children.
