UAHPERD Honors Nebo Teacher

Justin Judkins, physical education (PE) teacher at Maple Mountain High School, was honored by Utah Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (UAHPERD) as High School Physical Education Teacher of the Year.

Justin said, “Growing up I played a variety of sports but found my passion in wrestling and working out. My passion for being fit led me to find CrossFit and heavily influences the way I teach my classes.”

Mr. Judkins has been teaching at Maple Mountain High School since it opened six years ago. He is also the head wrestling coach. He wrestled at Ricks College and was a two-time All American and wrestled his last two years at BYU where he placed third in the WAC tournament. 

Mr. Judkins currently works for CrossFit HQ as a play-by-play commentator for regional competitions and the CrossFit Games.

Justin enjoys intense workouts, fly fishing, and upland bird hunting with pointing dogs. He is married to his college sweetheart for the past 23 years. They have five children.
