Dr. E. Mark Bezzant, former Assistant Vice President for Utah Valley University, presented a beautiful bronze bust of Abraham Lincoln to the Nebo School Board of Education.

Dr. Bezzant presented the gift just a day before Lincoln’s birthday, February 12. He thanked Nebo School District for the wonderful job in preparing the students of today. Dr. Bezzant had a plaque made with a quote by Lincoln to go with the Lincoln bust.

The plaque reads, “Upon the subject of education, ... I can only say that I view it as the most important subject which we, as a people, can be engaged in...” ~Abraham Lincoln.

Both of these items are displayed in the front entry of the Nebo School District office building under a large original painting by David Hughes-Millman, art teacher at Spanish Fork Junior.

Dr. Bezzant created many wonderful partnerships for Utah Valley University. By the time he retired, he was commonly known as the unofficial historian of the school.

Nebo School District thanks Dr. Bezzant for making numerous donations to our students and educational facilities.
