Larraine Nelson Announced Principal of Brockbank Elementary

Larraine Nelson–Principal of Brockbank Elementary for Nebo School District

Larraine Nelson was appointed by the Nebo School Board of Education as Principal of Brockbank Elementary for Nebo School District. She will fill the vacancy left by Alison Hansen. Larraine received her bachelor’s degree from Utah State University in Elementary Education and a Master’s of Education and an Administrative License  from Southern Utah University.

Mrs. Nelson started working in Nebo School District at Salem Elementary in 1986 as a fourth-grade teacher.  She taught second grade at both Salem Elementary and Mt. Loafer Elementary. From 2009 to 2012, Mrs. Nelson served as a Clinical Faculty Associate for Brigham Young University. Larraine has served as Nebo District Facilitator, school mentor, staff developer, Mt. Loafer’s public relations specialist, and Title I Coordinator at Barnett.

One of Ms. Nelson’s administrators stated, “Larraine has integrity and steadfastness and is a calming influence in any room. She is a quick learner and not afraid to ask questions. Larraine has a strong understanding of the many facets of school leadership including styles of leadership, finance, teacher observations, classroom instruction, and collaboration.”

Larraine stated, “I believe school should be a place where students feel safe, secure and happy!  When students know you care, they meet the expectations required and reach their full potential! I love working in Nebo School District where I feel so supported!  I have been so fortunate to work with amazing students, parents, teachers, staff, and administrators!  Nebo is the place to be!”

Larraine has been involved with Salem City Days, including the Baby Contest and the Children’s Parade. She enjoys spending time with her children in activities including baseball, softball, water skiing, jet skiing, vacationing, and movies. Larraine also enjoys handiwork, reading, and boating.
