Superintendent Rick Nielsen’s motto is: “Focus on Students”. He is doing just that. Throughout Superintendent Nielsen’s tenure as Superintendent, the Nebo School Board of Education has meet with students from each of the high schools and junior high schools on a quarterly basis. Each Youth Board representative is selected by his/her principal to be a spokesperson for their school.
Last month, Superintendent went a step further to ask the youth to meet with him personally on a monthly basis to cover some of their specific ideas, successes and concerns in a more informal gathering.
Representatives from each high school visited with the Superintendent on various subjects such as: sportsmanship, technology, and the 5X5 schedule. Superintendent Nielsen promised to keep the gathering to one hour so the students could get back to their schools and activities.
“It was personally gratifying to visit with students from every high school and listen to their concerns and successes. This is a gathering I want to continue. It is critical that we focus on what is best for students,” said Superintendent Rick Nielsen.
