Students Delight in Contemporary Ballet Performance - Answer to Wednesday's Challenge Sponsored by Wiggy Wash

Approximately 800 Nebo elementary students, their teachers and chaperones had an opportunity to see a sneak preview of this contemporary Ballet performed by the students of the Ballet West Academy on November 19 and 20 at the Covey Center in Provo.

Pinocchio: Awake My Soul was truly a professional production with special musical arrangements of popular songs whose words fit the telling of the story of Pinocchio.  Prior to the performance, Ballet West Education Director, Peter Christie, and members of the company gave a preview of the story and helped the students know what to expect.

Students were riveted to the performance and enjoyed this story told through dance. At time, the students would spontaneously clap with the music.

After the program ended, students were greeted by the dancers (still in full costume) and were given a Ballet West memento.  The program occurred at no cost to the schools and transportation was donated by the Barbara Barrington Jones Family Foundation. Nebo schools that participated in this riveting performance were Mapleton, Riverview, Hobble Creek, Salem, Park View, Spanish Oaks, Brockbank and East Meadows Elementary schools.
