Utah Symphony Provides Educational Program for Fourth-Grade Students

Submitted by lana.hiskey on

Monday, October 27, 2014, the Utah Symphony performed a special educational program for the Nebo School District fourth-grade students and their teachers.

Gary Ofenloch, tuba player, chatted with students before the performance.  Each year the symphony performs for all Nebo fourth-graders.

Teachers receive educational materials and recordings to help the students prepare for the event. Funding for this event is financed in part from the Utah State Legislature and Utah State Office of Education Professional Outreach for Public Schools program.

Students dressed in their best clothes and were attentive and responsive to the interactive concert. After the concert, Conductor David Yavornizky provided a 45 minute clinic for Maple Mountain High orchestra students working on literature for their upcoming holiday concert.
