Each year the Mapleton City Fire Department visits every class at Mapleton Elementary to teach students about fire safety and what firefighters do on the job.
Students are reminded of what to do if their home is on fire and how to avoid fire dangers.
The firefighters give students booklets with ideas to color and take home. Some students even get to try on the protective gear.
A fire drill is held in conjunction with this day at the school. Mapleton Elementary loves the community fire department!
