Students Place at Nationals - Make It With Wool Contest

Amelia Weight, Salem Hills High School, won First Place at the State “Make It With Wool” Competition. Amelia then competed at Nationals in Charleston, South Carolina where she won 1st Runner Up. This was Amelia’s third year participating in this competition that is associated with the Wool Growers’ Association and the American Sheep Industry.

Amelia won a Baby Lock Serger  sewing machine and 5 yards of mohair wool (which is from a goat) worth around $1,700 total. Amelia’s winning outfit was a knee-length, cap-sleeve, peach colored dress.

Spanish Fork Junior also had a First Place winner, Hannah Argyle. Hannah placed in the Top 10 at Nationals.

Both girls won Bernina sewing machines at the state competition sponsored by the Utah Wool Growers Association. Congratulations to these two talented girls.
