Spanish Fork City Teaming Up with Local Schools Champion Reading Challenge - Answer to Wednesday’s Challenge

Spanish Fork City approached Nebo School District to team up for a Champion Reading Challenge. Coordinator Wayne Andersen met with all the local elementary school principals and organized a win/win situation. Spanish Fork City was able to secure the Champion Challenge Rodeo where the top cowboys in the nation will come to compete right here in Spanish Fork on May 31, 2014. The elementary schools designed their Reading Challenge around a western theme to spark some new interest in reading.

The top student readers will be announced May 31 at the 2014 Wrangler Champions Challenge Rodeo in Spanish Fork. The Champions Challenge features the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association's best contestants competing on the best stock. The challenge is a television event and will be broadcast on June 8. These winning students will receive tickets to the rodeo and be involved in the opening ceremonies.

Park View’s Principal Kristie Reynold’s started their Champion Reading Challenge in their monthly newsletter. It said, “Hey y’all... it’s the Reading Round-up at the Park View Corral! Better than your average hoedown, Reading Month at Park View is bound to get some ‘Yee-haw’s and ‘Yippie-kay-yay’s!’”
