Foothills Elementary Presented to Nebo School Board of Education

Principal Keri Huntsman introduced the Foothills Elementary faculty and students presenting to the School Board. Fourth-grade students danced the Virginia Reel under the direction of Mark Haskell, fourth-grade teacher.

Next, Amy Russell and Vickie Davis, School Community Council members, discussed school goals and interventions.

Goal 1:  We will improve student achievement in reading through Tier I and Tier II Reading Interventions.
Goal 2:  We will improve student achievement in Mathematics.

Goal 3:  We will increase instruction and integration of Fine Arts.

Some of the Arts Committee including Dolly Scharf and Shannon Erickson discussed long-ago art and how they are accessing a grant to help fund Foothills’ art program.

The fairly new Foothills’ choir completed the presentation by singing Homeward Bound and Zum Gali Gali under the direction of CoralLee Findlay with Nancy Swenson at the piano.

The Nebo School Board of Education were delighted with the students, teachers and presentation.
