Junior High Students Pay to Go to School All Day on a Saturday

What could possibly motivate 130 Junior High students to pay $20 for the privilege of going to school all day on a Saturday?  The first annual Nebo Junior High Theatre Festival.  Students attended an all-day workshop to hone their drama skills in a variety of workshops, including lunch and other activities.  Students were able to choose five workshops to attend, which included topics in auditioning, improvisation, building a three-dimensional character, technology olympics, stage fighting, and much more.

Presenters were expert drama professionals from throughout Utah County and the state. Students received an audition bag, bottled water, notebooks and had a whole lot of fun!  Next fall, Nebo students will have an opportunity to participate in the Third Annual Nebo Junior Shakespeare Academy in August.  These wonderful events were produced and designed for students as a result of teacher collaboration in Nebo School District.
