Nebo Elementary Debate Winners

Hobble Creek, Mapleton Elementary, and Brockbank Elementary fifth- and sixth-grade students participated in the Nebo School District Elementary Debate on March 20.  The debate was hosted by Hobble Creek and judged by students from Springville High School, Maple Mountain High School, and Salem Hills High School. This year's resolution is: “Resolved that the State of Utah substantially increase its support of nuclear electrical generation within its borders.”

The following students placed at the Nebo District Debate and will be competing at the State Debate Competition.

Hobble Creek Elementary
Third Place Affirmative: Canyon Rhatigan and Cameron Dorny
Fourth Place Affirmative: Leah Ribble and Bailey Monson
Fourth Place Negative: Mason Aviano and Porter Fairbourne
Fifth Place Negative: Katie Rex and Lilli Holmberg
Speaker Ribbons were awarded to:  Lilli Holmberg, Samantha Smith, Cameron Dorny, Bailey Monson, and Canyon Rhatigan.

Mapleton Elementary
Fifth Place Affirmative: Tanner Lund and Collin Jensen
Sixth Place Negative: Tad Eriksson and Carter Beck
Speaker Ribbons were awarded to:  Tad Eriksson, Nash Ward, Jacob Braby, and Tanner Lund.

Brockbank Elementary
First Place Negative: Anna Mockett and Julia Hult
Second Place Negative: Amanda Mitchell & Emily Lund
Third Place Negative: Allison Wilson & Brooke Sorensen
First Place Affirmative: Rachael Calhill & Mallory Bingham
Second Place Affirmative: Max Hansen & Luke Jensen
Speaker Ribbons were awarded to:  Rachael Calhill,Mallory Bingham, Max Hansen, Amelia Moleff, Luke Jensen, Melanie Park, Anna Mockett, Julia Hult, Paige Tomadakis, Emily Lund, Brooke Sorensen, Megan Hansen, Amanda Mitchell, Allison Wilson, and Karley James.
