Mrs. Patten at Taylor Elementary Develops Young Artists -- Answer to Wednesday's Challenge

Submitted by lana.hiskey on

Elementary students love to be creative and inventive; luckily for Taylor Elementary School, Chris Patten, the Art Specialist, loves to teach creativity. Mrs. Patten teaches first through sixth grade at Taylor Elementary. She teaches art forms including Egyptian sculpting to visual art. Mrs. Patten instructs around 360 students every week. Each grade level develops a specific project.

Mrs. Patten has been educating children since 2002. Some of the students’ favorite art projects include water color, texture, colored pencil, and chalk drawings. The students love learning how to blend different colors and define details in the art.

Mrs. Patten explains, “I like to see the kids accomplish something.”

Isn’t that what every teacher loves to see? Watching children accomplish tasks and goals that they never thought they could achieve.

The art program at Taylor Elementary continues to blossom. Way to “Let It Shine” Mrs. Patten!

Liz Worthen is this week's winner. She said, "I used to work and Taylor and love Mrs. Patten." Congratulations Liz!
