John “Willie” Penrod, principal of Maple Mountain High, was selected as Administrator of the Year by the Utah Music Educators’ Association (UMEA) on February 1, 2013.

Principal Penrod was selected because of his outstanding leadership as he opened a new school four years ago. He led the entire school including music and all the fine arts with a secure and positive start.

The motto at Maple Mountain Golden Eagles is “Motivated learners, Multi-level problem solvers, Highly effective communicators, and Socially responsible citizens.” Principal Penrod’s vision for the fine arts included acquiring state-of-the-art musical equipment and instruments.

Maple Mountain music students, patrons, and music faculty are so grateful for Principal Penrod’s continued support and vision for their "tradition of excellence!"
