Parents, you need to be aware of some changes in our Attendence Policy and Cell Phone and Electronic Devices.

Changes in Consequences of Attendence Violations:

1. Any student who has detention time for tardies not served, will not be allowed to participate in school activities. This includes all dnaces and extracurricular activities such as sports, drama, fine art performances, etc.

2. Five unexcused absences in a particular class period or 20 unexcused absences in all class periods for the entire year will result in a "LETTER OF CONCERN" mailed to parents. (Three tardies is equivalent to one unexcused absence.)

Changes in Cell Phone and Electronic Device Policy:

1. Cellular phones must be turned off and kept out of sight during class time and between classes. They shall not be left on in vibrating mode. No IPODS or other electronic devices are permitted.

2. Students shall be allowed to use cellular phones only after school.

3. If a student uses an electronic signaling device any other time, ot if an electronic device rings while a student is on campus a school employee will do the following:

  • First Time Offense: Confiscate the device and an administrator will give the student a written ticket. The phone will be placed in an envelope with the student's name on it. The student will be allowed to pick the phone up after school.
  • Second Offense: Confiscate the device and turn it into the office. The administrator will give a second ticket and a parent will be allowed to pick the phone up at the end of the day.
  • Third Offense: Confiscate the device, third ticket given, parent phone call and a warning that the next consequence will result in suspension.
  • All Other Offenses: Suspension from school.
