Panther Pride and the PBS (Positive Behavior Support) program exist to promote pro-social behavior. This is accomplished by consistent wording of expectations for all staff to use when reinforcing positive behaviors. Focusing on positive behaviors creates a safe school environment for all types of students to thrive.
Parents are a crucial part of the Panther Pride program. Through their support and reinforcement at home, each student will be successful. A few of the skills your child will be learning and practicing are:
- How to listen
- How to follow instructions
- How to accept consequences and apologize
- The appropriate way to get attention
- Respect for learning, self, property, and others
Another tool in the Panther Pride program is the consistent use of the school planner. Students are expected to use their planners every day. Daily planner use shows respect for learning, responsibility in keeping up with school assignments, and is a great tool in helping parents and teachers communicate with one another. All teachers post class assignments on their boards for students to write in their planners. Planners are a great way for parents to know what is happening in each class.
